I played a some games of SSIV with someone named Mirumiru, or something like that, and he used Bust Sogetsu. The score was probably like me 0 him 30. I just couldn't get past his strategy, though I did beat him some rounds, and in other rounds it was down to a pixel's worth of life on both hands where I would fumble a guaranteed move and he would take the final slice.
This person was very skilled in using the rage explosion combo system as well.
His strat was mostly that of using only safe moves, turtleing, and getting POW off of CD combos so he could then use the CD into the water ball combo. Thats pretty much all he did, but he was so good at avoiding my attacks and coming back with his own, that it was very hard to deal with. At times I would get a little frustrated and angry, not at him, but just at the fact that Sogetsu's CD starter slash is so quick, has a long range(that can hit you at the beginning of a match) and has alot of priority, too much priority perhaps. There was many times I would jump at him, and he would move to wear I would land behind him and could CD combo me before I could either jump away or AB dodge/shadow step. So I got hit with that constantly since I am use to either immediately jumping away or shadow stepping when my jump attack fails to avoid being pushed.
I have a feeling I know who this player is. Its a friend I used to have on MSN messanger who stopped talking to me after he surpassed me in SSIV. He is from China and lives in Canada now. I have met people in the fighting game community that will be your best friend if you are better than them, but if they get better than you, then all of a sudden they dont know you. That hurts, but in the end it shows that they are shallow people and probably dont have many real friends in the first place. Which the real ones are often are neglected by these people when they start to loose "usefulness". I saw this because I have known "gamers" in real life and seen how I and their other friends, even there best friends, have been treated.
OOPS!!!! I totally got off subject to vent
Ok, back to this player. He was really good and fun to play. He was not rude and was courteous. I would love to play him again, though I would like to see what other characters he can use.
