Just wondering, would you prefert if the casual matches were recorded to avi (video)? Personnally, I find pretty usefull to have about half an hour of gameplay that weight under 100ko, but I'm aware that not everyone might be used to emulator (could just be personnal preferences too). Let your voices be heard.

Hey, Van!
A Nice Update!
That would help me a bit to bring more people into this Community.
I've been trying to help you out, and so far, I've invited a few people, (pretty much you know who^^).
About that Inp files, by the way, it seems ok if the input was made from our community members that includes me and everyone else. I hope there is some kinda of rule when it comes to making Inp files after Kalliera Match. For an example, in my experience, it is never good if the input is too long which often just stops after a few match. I remember falling asleep while watching one of your Chiness Input Files that you sent me a long time ago. It was a damm long. I hated it. People want to watch it overtimes (if the match is good.) For the community, we should have a list of Inp files following the dates, time, Server Name, Player's Name, things in order for a future reference... etc.
Personally, this is what I would do If I have to make an input to post on the websites.
1. I will ask a permission to record and tell them that I will close the game after a few matches (so, no confusion or being rude)
2. I will play about 5 Matches and stop recording. That is very neat and easy to replay overtimes for others.
3. I will pick each different character if I lose.
4. I will still play more if the opponet player agrees so, then I will record another 5 Matches, and stop recording. I would pick a different character, even though I didn't lose any round in the previous 5 matches.
5. Before sending Input Files, I will double-check it twice. (It is not good if it would turn out to be such an waste of times because of Input doesn't replay properly.)
6. As a community members, following the mentioned-above, I assume that will make this website like such a library, unlike other websites where they post a bunch of anythings that people DL and forget about it. If we follow such a simple rule for the community, we can make ourselves better.
################################## Would it be fun that one day, you visit to the website looking for one of your memorable Kalliear Match and you can still find it easily because everything is nicely organized?
Would it be cool if you can find a reference source of Match Inps by the Date, Player's Name, Server....and so forth? ################################## And we can do more professionally as a community member for a pro-long term. We can dedicate every each Inp into all memorable sources that someday, people will use the source to learn about the game.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Host can post a Avi Clip for each match only at a time if the circumstances allows, I believe. Host can also neatly organize those pre-dedicated Inputs from Community Members. For a casual community activity, I think anyone can post anything without following too much rule in one small section of their own. It may not for the whole community, but at the same time, it sort of encourage each members to other for a better relationship. Sometimes, people do talk persosally to only a certain individual. Then, they need a place to talk or share in their own way. That's why, I assume. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PS... I voted for No!, By the way, I'd rather post any Tournament Match Unless it is a Inp Files.
Thanks For Being a Member
if you really wanna reach the masses, convert em to avi. You may have space issues with avi tho.
Good suggestions from both of you. Like I was saying on the 17th update (see website front page), I'll be recording some matches to movie but the mame replay file will still be available. Keep in mind I'll only post on the websites matches of a reasonable lenght between two experienced players under decent network condition. Any other sort of casual matches will be posted directly in the gameplay forum. Thanks for the feedback.
the later mame versions can record straight to avi and convert your inp files to avi files, making life much easier. Then its simply a case of choosing codec and converting to wmv to reduce the file size. If some sort of ss tournament was to be held online ppl could record all their matches in inp send em to you to convert and you could edit the whole thing together adding player names and titles and what nots.
The only problem i've had is that matches recorded in mame32k0.64 won't convert properly into avi when i do it through another mame. Maybe i am just using wrong codecs.
Also on the subject of tournaments, couldn't we have something like that or some kind of league/ladder. That'd be sweet. best 3 out of 5 would work great and would be easy to convert.
